Moving Packing Supplies
Moving is something that you are going to have to do at least once in your life. If you are like me then you have had to do it about 20 different times growing up. Whether you are moving to a new country, a new state, or just across town you are going to have to learn what type of moving packing supplies you should have on hand.
Boxes and Tape
These are always the first two things that I get my hands on because I like to start packing months in advance. People call it premature – but I would rather have most things done and put away with so I can focus more on finding a new place to live and setting up the necessary payments and power instead of not having time to do it all.
To find the cardboard storage boxes you can go to your nearest UPS store. However, this is going to cost you. For free boxes simply go to your nearest restaurant or grocery store. Go late at night when they get a shipment in and grab the large and small boxes. They won’t mind. In fact they encourage this so they do not have to worry about them. Make sure to buy plenty of packing tape and a marker also.
You are going to need to get some type of newspaper to protect your fragile items. The best place to do is to go to the local newspaper distribution office. They will often give you free rolls of paper. These are big rolls and if you are lucky they will not have any print on them. You might have extra to use for the next move or for when you have fragile items to mail off.
The last thing that you are going to want to get your hands on are moving blankets. These are used for when you pack up the truck. It is going to drape over the large fragile items to keep them from getting scratched and broken while other things rub against it during the long haul.
